Many people are aware that they will need a Home Information Pack or "HIP" to sell their home but they do not realise how much the prices of HIP`s can vary.
Most importantly, they do not appreciate that by ordering there HIP from an independent Domestic Energy Assessor such as David Perkin, they could make a considerable saving.

An estate agent will generally instruct a large Home Information Pack Provider when they have a property to market. The HIP Provider will search for a Domestic Energy Assessor in your area (often the lowest bidder) or send one of their own assessors when they next have one in the area.
David Perkin as an independent local assessor can arrange to come at your convenience and also ensure, personally that all the other components of your HIP are ordered quickly.

The EPC is key to quick HIP production
Your HIP must be in place before the estate agent can market your property (This changed on 6th April 2009, it is not now sufficient to have ordered a HIP). You must have your Energy Performance Certificate and the following documents in the HIP before the property is marketed:-
- The Index
- The PIQ (Property Information Questionnaire)
- A Sales Statement
- HMLR Official Copy Entries & Title Plan
The Local Authority Search and Water & Drainage searches have to have been ordered and then added to the HIP when available. A local Domestic Energy Assessor can get your HIP up and running before a large national HIP provider working from outside the geographical area.
